Board Meeting March 13, 2024
Meeting was called to order at 11:03 A. M. by Robyn Armenta.
ROLL CALL: Robyn Armenta, Sue Hennings, Peggy Cattin, Cindy Davies, Linda K. Petersen and Colleen Garner (director).
The Open Meeting Act was noted. Minutes of the February meeting were approved.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT: 1. See the statistical reports to the Village. 2. April calendar was presented. 4 books and 1 DVD were purchased 5.discussion on having a separate Summer Reading program for junior high ages 6. May have a program on Smokey the Bear one afternoon 7. Cheryl Kaman would like to give a presentation on Mexico for one of the Summer Reading weeks. Agreed to change from USA. 8. Colleen will set a day in April for the board to earn more CEUs 9. Report on the recent Summer Reading program in Alliance by the Western Library Assoc. Colleen , Cheryl and 3 board members attended.
NEW BUSINESS: 1. Need a new copier. Old one died. 2.Discussion on raising the cost of copies as ink cartridges have gone up in price and paper, too. Tabled to next meeting. 3. Received donations of a cordless screwdriver and drill and large crockpot. Copies of photos and transparencies can also be done. 4. LB 441- Banned Books Bill- was discussed. If passed, it could lead to prosecution of school and public librarians. 5. Reviewed the safety rules and regulations for our building in case of a fire, tornado, threat from a patron, etc.
Sue moved and Linda seconded to adjourn at 12:15 P.M. Motion carried.
